Description

This Bajawa Rainstick has an elegant hand-painted dotted design and is rustic and very naturally beautiful. To play the Bajawa Rainstick simply upturn the instrument until the rocks inside begin to fall down slowly creating the sound of rain. The rainstick traditionally was used in rituals calling for rain and thunder. Each rainstick will slightly vary in shape, size and colour and design. Sometimes a clear non toxic varnish is applied to our rain sticks to give them a shiny finish and provide protection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Rainstick suitable for beginners?

How do I play the Rainstick and get the best sound?

Hold it vertically and slowly tilt it to let the seeds inside fall. The slower and more controlled the movement, the smoother and longer the sound—lasting around 5–7 seconds on the 30cm and up to 9 seconds on the 60cm version.
